Am 14. Februar droht die Zwangsräumung einer Familie in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Ein erster Räumungsversuch verhinderten 150 Menschen mit Sitzblockaden, ein zweiter Versuch wurde kurzfristig abgesagt. Nun mobilisiert das Bündnis „Zwangsräumung verhindern“ zu Sitzblockaden am 14. Februar um 7 Uhr. Die Blockade einer Zwangsräumung ist die Möglichkeit der Verdrängung ganz konkret entgegenzutreten.
Die betroffene Familie wohnt seit über 30 Jahren in ihrer Wohnung. Ein neuer Hauseigentümer erhöhte die Miete und konnte wegen eines Fristversäumnisses eine Räumungsklage durchsetzen. Eine Zwangsräumung ist die Spitze des Eisbergs in einem Prozess von massiv steigenden Mieten und der daraus folgenden Verdrängung. Die Politik setzt die Räumungen gegen Widerstände durch und versucht die Mieterinnen und Mieter weiter in einen Zustand der Ohnmacht zu versetzen.
Die erste verhinderte Räumung löste eine Solidaritätswelle aus. Viele Unterstützer*innen bekunden nun einen weiteren Räumungsversuch tatkräftig mitzuverhindern. Infoveranstaltungen in der ganzen Stadt, Blockadetraining, eine Warm-Up-Demo, tausende Plakate und viele weitere Aktivitäten informieren und mobilisieren die Mieterinnen und Mieter. Auch weitere Betroffene haben sich gemeldet um gemeinsam ihre Zwangsräumungen zu verhindern. Ein älteres Ehepaar in der Lübbenerstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg konnte so den Verbleib in ihrer Wohnung erkämpfen.
Der 14. Februar wird ein sehr wichtiger Tag für den stadtpolitischen Protest in Berlin werden. Es ist an der Zeit sich der gewaltigen Verdrängungswelle in den Weg zu setzen.

A Berlin-Kreuzberg family is being threatened with an eviction that will take place on February 14. The first attempt to evict the Gülbols was prevented by 150 people in a sit-in protest, a second attempt was cancelled on short notice. The organization „Zwangsräumung verhindern“ is mobilizing to set up a sit-in blockade on Feburary 14 at 7 am. Blocking this forced eviction is an opportunity to resist suppression in a concrete way.
Since 30 years the affected family lives in their flat. A new landlord raised the rent and was able to enforce an action of eviction, due to a failure to observe the time-limit. Forced evictions are only the tip of the iceberg in a process of displacements caused by massive raising rents. Politics ??? the eviction against resistance and tries to leave tenants and rent payers with a sense of powerlessness.
The first averted eviction triggered a chorus of solidarity. Many supporters expressed their will to actively help sabotage anothe attempt of eviction. Informative meetings all over the city, a sit-in practice, a warmup demonstration, thousands of bills and many other activities inform and mobilize tenants.

February 14 will prove to be a decisive day for protest concerning urban politics in Berlin. It*s time to put an end to this snowballing trend of repression.
